Trail Restoration & Education
Marshall Mesa, Superior, CO
Studio Project
University of Colorado Boulder

Design Goal
Tell the story of the Marshall Fire through the lens of the community and first responders. Provide a place to slow down, reflect, and find hope in the wake of a natural disaster.

The fence is the main design and is etched with quotes and information about the Marshall Fire.
Focuses:
Promote healing from a deadly wildfire, restore the trail head impacted by the fire, and educate visitors about wildfires and climate impacts.

25 interviews with rangers, firemen, residents, children, and families provided the information for the fence design. The quotes and information included on each fence section is below.
